MICHAEL H. TRAUTMAN: Architect

Michael is a 1965 graduate of the University of Michigan
College of Architecture and Design and was originally
licensed by the State of Michigan in 1969.  He has been
certified for registration by the National Council of
Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is
president of Trautman Associates, Ltd Architects, which
was founded in May of 1975.  The firm has developed
extensive practical experience in the long term aging of
residential buildings from performing over 4000 building
inspections for purchasers of existing properties as well
as performing approximately 50 evaluations of indoor air
quality affected by mold plus numerous tests for radon
penetration and potable  water contamination.  Areas of
specializations are barrier free/universally accessible
housing and indoor air quality evaluation.  In addition to
practice, he has undertaken advanced study and applied
research in the Doctoral Program at the A. Alfred
Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Design at
the University of Michigan since 1999.  His area of
research study is the design for health and rehabilitation
of catastrophically injured or chronically ill persons with
emphasis on the psychological and environmental
factors.  The firm’s projects have been featured in the
Detroit News Magazine section, the Observer/Eccentric
Business and Real Estate sections, the Oakland Press
and the Macomb Daily in addition to other local papers.’
